I'm walking All Night Long! But I need your help
I often take on these kinds of challenges for the physical test they provide—but this one struck a much deeper chord.
When I first came across it, something shifted. It wasn’t just about fitness or endurance. It resonated because it hit close to home. As I sat with my thoughts, reflecting on the past four years, the emotion quickly overwhelmed me. To say I shed a tear would be an understatement. Our family has faced more than our fair share of challenges, particularly around our children's health.
But it's not just about our story. It’s about the countless other families we’ve met along the way—families we see at the hospital more than anywhere else. You only have to look into another parent’s eyes to see the exhaustion, the fear of the unknown, or the quiet grief that comes with watching your child suffer. The staff are extraordinary, truly, but it's the parents who go home for just a couple of days—only to return and start the whole process over again.
And all of this happens while juggling jobs, life responsibilities, and trying to keep everything else from falling apart.
This cause is deeply personal for me. It's not about comparing struggles—every story matters—but I can say with honesty that we've walked a hard path. That’s why I’m doing this. To raise awareness. To raise support. To help ensure other families don’t feel so alone.
If you can, I welcome any donation to support this incredible cause. More importantly, I encourage you to look around—reach out to a parent you know might be quietly struggling. Ask if they’re okay. Offer a kind word. Offer a hug.
And remember the kids—missing out on birthdays, sleepovers, school camps and simple joys, through no fault of their own.
They’re the real heroes in this story.
