I'm walking All Night Long! But I need your help

I'm joining a celebration of courage to raise funds for sick kids and their families. I really need your support!

Each day can feel like a marathon for sick kids and their families. Which is why I'm walking 42km All Night Long this October.

This is where you can help. Will you please donate what you can? Every dollar you give will support sick kids in Queensland and give me the inspiration and energy I need to walk All Night Long.

Yep, this is going to be a challenge, and I'm going to be exhausted and tired at the end. But I know with your help, it will be so worth it, and it's a fraction of what families with sick kids go through. Please donate now. 💛

My Fourth Big Walk for 2025

Wednesday 22nd Oct
I wasn’t planning on doing a fourth big walk this year - but here we are! 😅
After already tackling two 35km Bloody Long Walks (Sunshine Coast and Brisbane) and the 50km (+5km thanks to a wrong turn) Coastrek from Noosa to Mooloolaba in a rare torrential winter storm, you’d think I’d be done for the year. But nope - I’ve signed up to another big one!
This time it’s 42km (a full marathon)… and it’s an overnighter! 🌜
Yep - we’ll be walking All Night Long, starting at 7pm this Saturday night and likely finishing sometime around sunrise.
To be honest, I’m a little nervous about this one. I’ve been quite sick for a few weeks and still have a chesty cough, weak lungs, and a lingering out-of-breath feeling that hasn’t gone away. On top of that, I somehow managed to get a sore calf muscle even though I haven’t been able to exercise! Also, as a total morning person who’s usually ready for bed by 8pm, staying awake all night might be the biggest challenge of all. 😬
I’m walking as part of a team of five called “Not Sleeping Beauties.”
My fabulous teammates include:
💛 Jodie & Trish - my walking partners from all the other long walks this year. These amazing women have been beside me every step of the way!
💛 Tania - who joined us for the first 35km Bloody Long Walk back in June on the Sunshine Coast.
💛 Cathryn - our “virgin big walker” - it’s her first big walking event. She was the first friend I made at Parkrun, and she’s usually a long-distance runner rather than a walker, so this will be a slower (and much longer) change of pace for her.
This event supports Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland and the Children’s Hospital Foundation, helping Queensland’s sickest kids and their families.
Each step we take helps fund:
💛 Accommodation for families while their child receives treatment
💛 Meals and support services to help ease the burden
💛 Vital programs and resources for kids in the hospital
