How long is the walking route?

add remove

For the 21km walk the route is 2 x 10.5kms.

For the 42km walk the route is 4 x 10.5kms.

How do I know if I am staying on track?

add remove

Follow the signs and our friendly crew. Getting lost? Not on our watch! If you need extra help on the night, just call the number on your bib.

Is the walk timed or competitive?

add remove

Nope! This walk is all about community, connection, and making a difference. Go at your own pace and enjoy the journey.

Is there age requirement?

add remove

Yes, you need to be 18 or over to take part. We promise it’s worth the wait if you’re not quite there yet!

Under 18s are allowed at the Event Precinct as long as they're supervised by a parent/carer at all times.

How much does it cost to register?

add remove

The registration fee is $60, helping us cover event-day essentials, fundraising incentives, and all the little details that make All Night Long such a memorable experience. Keep an eye out, we have special discounts available to help you get started!

Can I register on the day of the event?

add remove

No, registrations need to be completed in advance as fundraising is a key part of being involved in this incredible event. Make sure you sign up early so you don’t miss out on the fun!

42km or 21km is a LONG walk, do you think I can I make it?

add remove

Absolutely! Participating in a walking marathon for charity is a wonderful way to support a great cause while achieving a personal milestone. We'll be sharing helpful training tips to guide you along the way. And remember—it's not about how fast you go or how much of the route you finish. Just by taking part, you're making a meaningful difference and becoming part of something truly special.

On the night you can call the number on your bib. We can
pick you up and drop you off at a pit stop or the finish. Support crews are out there too.

Can I bring my dog on the walk?

add remove

We absolutely love our four-legged friends, but for the safety of all walkers, dogs will need to sit this one out.

Can I bring my child or baby on the walk?

add remove

Due to our insurance requirements, anyone under 18 – including little ones in prams or arms – won't be able to join the walk itself. But they’re absolutely welcome at the Event Precinct to enjoy the atmosphere and cheer you on at the start or finish line.

What happens if it rains?

add remove

Rain or shine, the walk will go on! In case of extreme weather, updates will be posted on our website, social media and SMS – your safety is always our top priority.

I have dietary requirements; will snacks be provided?

add remove

We do our best to cater to a wide range of dietary needs, but we recommend bringing along your own snacks just in case—we wouldn’t want you to go hungry if options are limited or run out.

Will there be parking or public transport available?

add remove

Yes! The event is easily accessible by both public transport and car.

Public transport is recommended, with multiple bus, train and CityCat services stopping close to the City Botanic Gardens, South Bank and Howard Smith Wharves. We encourage you to plan your journey in advance using the Translink Journey Planner.

Parking is available at a number of nearby public car parks throughout the Brisbane CBD, South Bank and Howard Smith Wharves. Please note that parking fees may apply and availability cannot be guaranteed.

I can no longer participate in the walk.  Can I get a refund on my registration and self-donations?

add remove
We’re sorry you can’t join us! Please note that the registration fee is non-refundable and self-donations are treated like any other donation – so they’re non-refundable too. We truly appreciate your support and the difference you’ve already made!

I’ve cancelled my registration. Can my supporters and sponsors receive a refund on their donation?

add remove

We are very grateful for any donations that will help Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland and Children’s Hospital Foundation deliver our essential services. However, if your withdrawal sees any supporters and sponsors wishing for a refund, they will need to contact our Support Team at support@allnightlong.org.au.

Fundraising

Why do I have to raise at least $500?

add remove

Great question! This event is all about making a meaningful impact to Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland and Children’s Hospital Foundation, and fundraising is how we turn every step you take into real support for Queensland’s sickest kids.

The $500 fundraising goal ensures that your participation goes beyond the walk—it helps fund vital programs, services, and resources. Whether it’s covering a night of accommodation, providing meals, or offering emotional support to families during tough times, every dollar you raise truly counts.

And don’t worry—we’ll support you every step of the way with easy tools, tips, and ideas to help you reach (or surpass!) your goal.

What happens if I don’t raise the $500?

add remove

We know it’s tough out there and that’s why families with sick kids and Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland and the Children's Hospital Foundation are so grateful for your support.

The team here at All Night Long is here to help you reach your minimum fundraising of $500, if you need support, please drop us a line as we are here to help every step of the way.  Email us at support@allnightlong.org.au.

Teams

How it works with individuals and team totals?

add remove

When you fundraise to your personal page, your donations go towards your team total. People may also donate directly to your team; however, this will not be tallied to your individual totals. Should your team raise more than the required minimum amount of $500 per team member it will be up to your team captain’s discretion whether members who haven’t raised $500 individually can take a share in the team total and get to participate.

How many people can I have in a team?

add remove

Grab a buddy or round up the whole crew—teams start at two, but there’s no limit! The more, the merrier (and the louder the cheer squad)!

How do I create a team?

add remove

When you register you will be prompted to "Create a Team" or "Join a Team". Select “Create a Team”; enter your chosen team's name, team picture and information and you're on your way. You’ll also be able to share a link inviting people to join your team.

How do I join an existing Team?

add remove

When you first register you will be prompted to Create a Team or Join a Team. Select Join a Team and you will be able to use the drop-down menu to select one of the already registered teams. If you have already registered but wish to join an existing team, look at this page to view the list of current teams: https://www.allnightlong.org.au/sponsor/teams/

You can then view their page and join the team.

Alternatively, drop us line at support@allnightlong.org.au, and we’ll help you get sorted.

Can I walk with a friend if we are not in the same team?

add remove

Yes, of course! If your friend is registered and taking part too, you’re more than welcome to walk together – no matter which team you’re on. It’s all about enjoying the journey and supporting a great cause together!

Can team members walk different distances?
add remove
Yes! It's up to each individual whether you walk 21kms or 42kms. Just choose the option that suits in your registration.

Volunteer

How do I become a volunteer?

add remove

We’d love your help! Learn more here or contact us at volunteer@allnightlong.org.au to sign up.

Event Day

Before the walk?

add remove

The Even Precinct is open from 4pm, so you can meet up with your team, fellow walkers, collect your fundraising incentives (if you haven't already) and soak in the atmosphere.

There’ll be a DJ spinning feel-good tunes to get you pumped, plus food and coffee trucks on-site for any last minute snacks or refreshments.

How long will it take to walk the course?

add remove

The walk begins at 6pm, but your finish time will depend on the distance you choose and your walking pace.

If you're walking the 21km route, most participants complete the course in 3.5 to 4.5 hours, finishing between 9:30pm and 10:30pm.

Those taking on the 42km challenge generally complete the course in 5 to 8 hours, crossing the finish line between 11pm and 2am.

Everyone walks at their own pace, so these times are a guide only. Be sure to leave extra time to enjoy the pit stops, entertainment, photo opportunities, and well-earned rest breaks along the way!

After the walk?

add remove

You did it! As you cross the finish line, expect plenty of cheers and high fives it’s a huge achievement and worth celebrating!

Take a moment to relax and enjoy the vibe with fellow walkers. You’ll be able to grab a well-earned breakfast, coffee from the food vans on-site and a massage.

If you're a member of the Midnight Club you'll be provided with a food token for your complimentary breakfast, once you've crossed the finish line – our little way of saying thank you for going that extra mile!

What items should I bring on the night?

add remove

We recommend bringing a waist bag to carry your essentials. (If you've raised $750+, you'll receive an exclusive All Night Long waist bag!)

What to pack:

  • ID, bank card and Medicare card
  • A light jacket or jumper to keep warm while resting at pit stops
  • Your phone and a portable power bank charger
  • Lip balm
  • A water bottle

Our pit stops will provide light snacks, water refills, and a few surprises along the way. However, if you have specific dietary requirements, we recommend bringing your own food and snacks to keep you fuelled throughout the night.

Will there be an area to store some items at the start/finish line?

add remove

There will not be any storage facilities at the start/finish line or pit stops. We encourage you to pack light for the walk, so you don’t have anything heavy weighing you down!

Can my friends and family come to the starting line/finish line?

add remove

Bring your family and friends to cheer you on at the event precinct (Botanic Gardens) on Saturday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
