Walking Through the Night for Sick Kids, Inspired by Zoey

This October, I'll be taking on the 21km walk as part of All Night Long, and I'm dedicating it to my daughter, Zoey.

Since she was born, Zoey has undergone eight operations. What started with treatment for her cleft palate has evolved into ongoing challenges with her hearing, including bilateral cholesteatoma, eardrum retraction, countless ENT appointments, and further surgeries still to come.

As parents, we've experienced first-hand the incredible support that children's health services provide to families facing these challenges. While Zoey continues to tackle each hurdle with resilience and courage, we know many other families are facing difficult journeys of their own.

That's why I'll be walking 21km through the night to help raise funds for sick kids and their families across Queensland. The money raised supports the amazing work of the Children's Hospital Foundation and Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, helping families access the care, accommodation, and support they need during some of the toughest times in their lives.

I'll be tired, sore, and probably questioning my decision somewhere in the middle of the night, but it's a small challenge compared to what many children and their families go through every day.

If you're able to contribute, no matter the amount, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you for your support. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’› What An Incredible Community ๐Ÿ’›

Saturday 12th Sep
๐Ÿ’› $1,860 Raised and 42 Days to Go ๐Ÿ’›

Less than 24 hours after launching the fundraiser, we've reached $1,860, and I'm genuinely humbled by the support.

This morning marked the start of the preparation, with the first training walk completed. It wasn't a particularly glamorous beginning, with 3.5km in the rain, followed by a solid gym session to make sure we're ready to tackle this challenge properly when October arrives.

I'm incredibly proud to be taking part in this event. What started as a way to give back to organisations that help families through difficult times has been met with a level of generosity that I never expected.

With 42 days still to go until the walk, there's plenty of training ahead, and the fundraising page will remain open the entire time for anyone who would still like to contribute.

To everyone who has donated, shared the page, or sent words of encouragement, thank you. Your support means more than you know, and together we're helping make a real difference for children and families who need it most. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘ฃ

Now it's time to keep training, keep fundraising, and make these next 42 days count.

๐Ÿ’› $1,000 Raised... and Climbing! ๐Ÿ’›

Friday 11th Sep
I'm genuinely blown away by the support we've received.

In such a short period of time, we've reached $1,000 in donations for the Children's Hospital Foundation and Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared the fundraiser, or taken the time to read Zoey's story. Your generosity means more than I can properly express.

As a family, we've experienced first-hand the support provided to children facing medical challenges, and it's incredible to see so many people getting behind a cause that helps other families do the same.

We've now set our sights on $1,500, and with your continued support, I know we can get there.

Thank you again for helping me walk for Zoey and for supporting sick kids and their families across Queensland. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘ฃ

$500 goal achieved!

Friday 11th Sep
I would like to thank everyone who has donated from the very bottom of my heart.

The assistance we've received from the teams at the Queensland Children's Hospital over the last few years have been overwhelming; and for any of you that know Zoey she's taken each and every step of her journey in her stride.

I've increased our overall goal, with the hope to provide as much support as possible to the continued services provided by QCH and Ronald McDonald House, especially to the mini families we've met over the years who are not as fortunate geographically to have these services in their backyard.ย

Thank you all for getting behind this, I really appreciate the support.
