Important update: Event cancelled due to severe weather.

I'm walking All Night Long in honour of Xavier!

On February 1st 2025 my families whole world was shaken. My brother Xavier had been having constant “migraines” for weeks with no medication or anything helping him get better. He visited a seperate hospital two times within a week with both him and my mum Emma saying there was something wrong. They dismissed him and sent him home with medication to ease these migraines. The day after the second hospital trip he was in excruciating pain, shaking, slurred speech, vomiting and fevers. Our mum Emma had gone away for the weekend after being told “everything is fine” by the doctors and people who are supposed to be there to help.
I called an ambulance for my brother because he was screaming out in pain, the phone call and waiting to hear those sirens was the longest wait of my life. Once the paramedics arrived they decided on taking him to Queensland Children’s Hospital because something was clearly very wrong and no one was doing anything about it. By midnight he was at the hospital with my mum meeting him there. I went to sleep and woke up to a phone call from my mum saying he was being rushed into brain surgery. He had bacterial meningitis and an abscess on his brain. The surgeons could not believe he was still awake and alert and said that he should’ve been in a coma.
The Queensland Children’s Hospital heard his cries for help and immediately rushed to help him. My brother and mum were in hospital for a few weeks with him on antibiotics. With the Queensland Children’s Hospital our mum was able to stay by his side and be there with him throughout his stay. The hospital had many activities and would try to help him to make his stay the most comfortable as possible as well as providing our mum with support.
After a few weeks he was sent home with a pick line and had a nurse come in the home to give him the antibiotics he needed.

Donating will help many sick kids and their families and provide them with resources to feel as though they are still a kid and have a comfortable stay whilst undergoing hospital treatments. Donating will also help ensure families of sick kids are provided with resources to be able to stay by their child’s side as long as they’d like. Please donate today to help raise funds for sick kids and in Honour of my brother Xavier. 💛
