Walk for B 🐝

In Honour of our strong and brave daughter Charlie B Myself and a great friend Lauren are joining a celebration of courage to raise funds for sick kids and their families.  

As these charities supported us in our time of need while Charlie was having the fight of her life back in 2023. From Strep A, Sepsis, 10 days on ECM, 21 days under sedation, 30 days in PICU, 3 major surgeries 2 minor, 35 days of dialysis, 49 days on O2, too many lines, drains, scans and tests to count.  5 days a week sessions of OT, physical therapy and speech to get her strength back in her head, arms, body, speech and eating back. Equals a total of 74 nights in hospital! 

Our little fighter beat the 30% chance of survival given to us.  She maybe still be in recovering from this fight but while this was all going on The Children’s hospitals nurses, Doctor’s, OT’s , Physiotherapist and charities like the Ronald McDonald house support us as a family in anyway they could gave us people to talk to, somewhere to stay close so her bother and Dad were close by. Supporting us with a car park so we could get our son to his appointments, daycare or get food and not to mention the utilities to be able to cook a home cooked meal,  have places to play and make life just a little less intimidating.

Each day can feel like a marathon for sick kids and their families. Which is why we're walking 21km All Night Long this October.
