I'm walking All Night Long! But I need your help

I'm joining a celebration of courage to raise funds for sick kids and their families. I really need your support!

Each day can feel like a marathon for sick kids and their families. Which is why I'm walking 42km All Night Long this October.

This is where you can help. Will you please donate what you can? Every dollar you give will support sick kids in Queensland and give me the inspiration and energy I need to walk All Night Long.

Yep, this is going to be a challenge, and I'm going to be exhausted and tired at the end. But I know with your help, it will be so worth it, and it's a fraction of what families with sick kids go through. Please donate now. 💛

My Updates

40km practise walk

Friday 24th Oct
Monday 13th October
I went for a practise walk & completed a 40km around Oxenford 4k lake
I started at 6am & finished at
2.30pm
40km in 8.5 hours!
I was going well till about lap 8(30kms) and my hips started to hurt. At lap 9 (34kms), my right foot started to pull 😢
By the time I had finished lap 10, my hips were hardly moving, and getting into the car was a painful mission!!

Surprisingly, my right foot held up really well, it was my hips & a big fat blister on a toe on my left foot haha

Helensvale to Nike Harbour Town

Wednesday 8th Oct
Yesterday I did my 1st big walk since I did the tendon damage in my foot.
It was an easier walk than I thought it would be so I managed to stretch it to 7.4km.
I had a pit stop at Nike to have some food & drink plus use the bathroom.
Unfortunately on the way back, my watch died, but I walked the same way so I know the distance
Total steps for the day was 30845, a distance of 21km!
My foot is feeling good, so now to increase the kms

My 1st road walk

Tuesday 30th Sep
On Thursday 25th September, I did my 1st distance road training walk .
Pimpama > Coomera > Pimpama
13km in 2.5 hours
Quite proud of my time, even shaved off 7 minutes from the estimated arrival time
It was much more difficult than 24km around Oxenford lake! So I need to plan some more distance road walks
Perhaps doing it mid morning wasn't my brightest idea haha

Injury!

Tuesday 30th Sep
What I haven't been sharing on here, is I have a foot injury!
I've had it several weeks, maybe months if I'm honest!
It started as a small pain on the outer side of my right foot. As time went on, it slowly got worse. A lump even started to appear.
It got to the point I could hardly touch the foot, so no sleeping on my right side, if sleeping on my left side the covers couldn't touch my foot as that hurt.
Ironically, walking didn't really both it, but standing still for too long did!
Last Saturday I bit the bullet & went to see a podiatrist.
He was able to do an ultrasound & was 85% certain I didn't have a fracture, but just to be sure, i had to get an xray.
I explained about the All Night Long walk. He said resting wouldn't help me in the long run as the injury would heal for now, but start again when I start walking again.
He taped my foot up & added padding, which had to stay on for 48hrs. I also have spare padding to add into my shoes.
I'm going back in a weeks time & we will start strength training as deloading is not going to happen!
My results have come back & thankfully there is no fracture, but oh my days, how wonky is my foot haha
I've taken it easy the last 4 days, I've only worked 1 day & I have to say, my foot does feel better. I will continue with the easy walking & maintain the padding & fingers crossed, I'm back to full foot strength very soon.
Don't worry, I will be doing the walk no matter what!! It will take more than this to stop me

4k lake walks

Monday 8th Sep
I've been able to do a few longer walks around Oxenford lake over the last couple of days.
I'm enjoying these longer walks so much, I will be doing more & increasing the distance

Thankyou to everyone who has made a donation so far, I really appreciate your support
My goal is $500,  there's still plenty of time if you want to donate & show your support for Brisbane's children's hospital & Ronald McDonald house

Much love
Zoe xx

Morning walks

Wednesday 27th Aug
Hey everyone,
Ive been out nearly every morning with Baylee for a morning walk. Due to time constraints, ive not managed a long walk yet, but it will happen!!
